Easter and Nascar

Well, we took the kids to their first nascar race this past weekend. Johns work provided pit passes and junior pit passes so we all got to go into the garages and see the cars up close. I was able to get some really good photos. It was a nice time. . .loud, but nice. Johns dad was able to come down and go to the race with us.

All because John works for Chevy!

We took a weekend and went to Raleigh NC to visit Johns aunt and uncle. We spent the weekend with them, laughed and made some great memories. A few days later, my mom and dad came down for a week. We played outside, went to Monkey Joe's and Johnny Mike got his new glasses. We are enjoying the nice weather and being able to play outside with 60 degrees in March. Virginia is treating us well.

Welcome to Virginia

Well, I haven't updated as much as I would like but I don't really know who all checks this thing anyway. In short, We moved out of our home in Michigan, spent Christmas at our parents houses and then moved to Virginia. Not much has happened, just the usual with moving. John is doing his best to adjust to a new school, Dylan LOVES his new school, John is getting the hang of his new job and Julia is helping me at home a lot these days. Here is a random mix of the last few months. Hope everyone is well and please know we love you!

Since John is in Virginia and we move out of our house in 6 days, we didn't put up any Christmas decorations. I usually have my Tree and trimmings up by night time on Thanksgiving so this has been killing me! SO. . .we made a paper Christmas tree. The kids and I colored ornaments and glued them on. We hung it in the kitchen so we can see it everyday. LOTS of Fun!

We started our Easter on Friday. Went to Johns parents and had Brunch, Easter Egg Hunt, Played outside, family t-ball game, water fight and 75 degree weather. PERFECT! Went back up to GB on Saturday to my parents. Lunch, Easter Egg Hunt, some basketball and zimzam, a potato gun fight, only to come home to no power. Sunday a nice service at church and some down time at home. Monday, the ZOO and 70 degrees. IT WAS ALL SO WONDERFUL!!

Christmas 2009

We were all healthy this year for Christmas and I am thankful for that. Our children were all at great ages to see the spirit of Christmas in their eyes this year. Julia was excited about the presents...You could SEE the spirit of Christmas in Dylan's eyes and John wanted to tell everyone the true meaning of the holidays . It was SO MUCH FUN! A little local traveling, some friends over after the new year and lots of memories! Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season!

We packed in a lot this November. Lots of leaf playing a trip to the circus and to top it off on the 30th we went downtown Rochester where EVERYTHING is in lights. There we sampled cake from the bakery, blinky necklaces from the jewelry store and horse drawn carriage rides. It was a great night.

Sorry it took me so long to get these up. Our computer was down for a while. These are Julias 1 year, Dylans 3 year and All three pictures for the year. John Michaels will be done in December but I wanted to share them with you all! It was a crazy day but it is done.

6 Days in the Hospital!

Just a brief update for you all. Julia came home yesterday (Aug. 31) after spending 6 days in the hospital

It started last Tuesday with a 104 fever that spiked to 105.5 Her doctor couldn't find the source of infection.

Wednesday after a urine culture and blood culture she was admitted to the hospital. Still running a 104 fever.

LONG STORY. . .the out come was, Kidney infection, UTI and bacteria growing in her blood.

5 days of IV antibiotic, 4 blood draws, 3IVs, 6 shots in her legs and then sent home on a 10 day antibiotic. She will be having a VCUG on September 18th to determine if the kidneys are receiving a backwash into them which may have caused the infection to begin with.

We are happy to be home and thankful that our little girl is getting back to normal!

This is a good story. . .The Cotton Candy vendor came into our section asking "Cotton Candy, who wants Cotton Candy?" Dylan JUMPED out of his seat and yelled, "I do I do, Me, I want Cotton Candy!" IT WAS PRICELESS! As you see, they got their Cotton Candy.

When John Michael was younger I had a hard time letting go and allowing him to get messy. Now, that is not a problem. We get messy all the time and have fun doing it and I must say. . .I am happy to have let go of that control. The kids have a great time. Today we painted with our feet and then played around to let the leaves get stuck. They had a ball and so did I. HAPPY SUMMER!

The week of Dylans birthday we decided to buy a family pass to the zoo and it was GREAT! It was the first time the kids had gone and I am so glad we can go whenever we want. The zoo is only 12 miles from our house so it is a great bennifit to being in Rochester Hills.

Dylan's 3rd birthday was July 9th. We celebrated at home with a giant Cookie cake. . .just like Dylan he was wearing frosting all over the place but. . .THATS DYLAN! We then went Saturday up to The Flint Childrens Museum to celebrate with our family and friends. THAT WAS PERFECT for Dylan. It was a great celebration!

Happy 4th of July

The children and I headed up north while John went to Penn. for work. We left on Friday June 26th and John joined us that Monday. We stayed until the 4th and then returned home.

Here is John Michael thinking he is old enough to get his license. . .not quite yet boy!

Our friends Amy and Rudy joined us for a few days. . . Joslyn, John and Dylan were fine with the rocks. Julia was not!

These were their "tough" faces. I am sure Rudy's "tough" face is more intimidating when in uniform.

And this is my car! I WISH! John had it for 6 days as he drove it to Penn. for the car show. I would buy it if we could put 3 kids in it!

This summer has already been so busy but so wonderful! This past weekend John and I attended a friends wedding in Frankenmuth,

Julia really wanted to be on the field with her brothers. . .I think she thought I would let her climb over the fence.

Grandpa has taught Julia the famous "COOKIE" shake!

Julia celebrated her first birthday with a 103.9 fever but was able to join us for one birthday song.

We started out on Thursday morning at 6:15am and made it to Atlanta by 7 p.m. Julia needed a diaper change 15 minutes into the trip and then another 5 times besides that. The boys were GREAT and we were very proud!

We stayed with John's cousin Ryan, his wife Christina (whom I LOVE) and their son Camden. Friday we went to a bounce house called Monkey Joe's but I forgot my camera. On Saturday we went to the wild animal Safari where you can rent a van and drive the zoo to feed the animals from the car. There were Zebras, Giraffes, Pigs, Elk and so many more. There was also a walk through zoo. IT WAS WAY COOL!!!

A non photo update!

Well, the time has come. I am not sure how much I will be able to post on here for the next few months. I will do my best but as of today here is the plan. . .

Over the past weekend we have been moving things that we will NEED over to John and Diane's house (Johns parents). We will be staying there for 2 months while we are SMART about finding a house.

This Wednesday the movers come and box up our things to take to a "closed" storage unit. This means we won't be able to go and get ANYTHING! It is climate controlled so things should be safe there but we are still taking our pictures and valuables with us!

Friday and Saturday they load and move everything to storage for us and when we find a house they will then move it there! NICE HUH!!!

Monday we will close on this house and hand it over to GM and they will continue to sell it! It is a blessing that we are able to get out from our house and not loose too much money in the deal. We are so thankful for that. We appreciate any thoughts and prayers in our favor. It will be hard on the boys once they realize we aren't coming "home". Thank you for all your support and hopefully when I write again we will be in a new home! Love you all and God Bless!

We went to the circus today! We hadn't been in 2 years so it was Dylan's first time! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! The boys laughed at the clowns. . .I mean LAUGHED out loud. The camel was Dylan's favorite and John really liked the motorcycles in the circle cage! We had a great day making memories~

We had a wonderful time during break! We have had so many exciting things going on these past few weeks! From Julia trying her first food, and yes, she got that messy on her own, to John turning 5, birthday parties, moving and just being a family. Life is WONDERFUL!! John got a pirate digging kit for his birthday and he was hard at work. Dylan asked me to take his picture and Julia changes so quickly that I take too many pictures. . . this is the one I chose to share. Sweet Sleep Success

Well, for 2 weeks now Julia has been sleeping through the night from 10pm to around 7am. She isn't even waking up for a diaper change! Yay! Last night though was even better! She went to bed around 9:45pm and didn't start talking until 8am! WOW! Yay Julia and yay me and my sleep! Life is wonderful!

Sweet Memories of Grandma Dunk

My Grandma Dunk knitted this and gave it to me during my pregnancy with Julia. I received the beautiful sweater and bonnet in March and my grandma passed in May. I am thankful to have something so beautiful from my grandmother. She looks so sweet! I will cherish the memories of my grandma while building new ones with my daughter.

My parents went with me to take the boys to the GB carnival while John was in Indy. . . Dylan was too small for the rides. I felt bad for him so he got a nice sugar rush!

John Michael had his first soccer game on Sunday. In the U5 league "we don't keep score because everyone is a winner. . . " John and I kept score! John Michael scored 2 goals and I think the final score was 8 to 6 but John could tell you for sure.

All I know is at this age it is fun to watch them run around like a school of fish. Whoever has the ball, the whole pack followed after it! It was a great day and most importantly, John LOVED it!

First day of School!!!

John is my GROWN up child. I told him I wanted a picture of him on his first day of school and he told me "It's not my first day mom, I went here last year!"

John started his first day of preschool in the 4year old room. He has the same teacher as last year and most of the kids are the same so he told me that it was "no big deal, I've done this before!" WOW, who knew he was ready for "college!"

Labor Day! Or should I say, Labor then REST

Labor day was packed like any other year! We started out at noon with the Cox Family picnic. That lasted till about 4:30 then we rushed home, I bathed the boys and went back out to Johns Uncle Ron and Aunt Marcy's.

We spent the evening there with Christina cutting my and Dylans hair, and then fininshed up with a cozy bon fire! We arrived home around 10pm. This picture can tell you that the boys played hard! Fun was had by all~
